The Cessna Citation Latitude (Model 680A) is a mid-size jet that was first announced at the annual NBAA convention in 2011. Initial sales and deliveries began sometime in August of 2015, approximately a few months after it achieved FAA certification. It was intended to be larger than the XLS and geared to compete with the Embraer Legacy 450.
The Latitude does have many similar features to the Sovereign+. For example, its wing design and powerplant. Although where it may lack in terms of overall range. It definitely makes up for in terms of cabin design & volume (1).
The engine’s used are very similar to those found on the Sovereign. On this aircraft you will find two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D1 turbo fans, with approximately 5,907 lbs thrust each.
In a standard configuration, the Latitude is able to travel with up to 9 passengers including pilot and crew. With 4 passengers, this aircraft can travel up to 2,700 nautical miles. Although overall, it has a maximum range of approximately 2,870 nautical miles. Also, you can expect to find a maximum cruise speed of approximately Mach 0.67. (2)
The maximum take off weight (MTOW) with this private jet is approximately 30,800 lbs, while it’s maximum landing weight (MLW) is approximately 27,575 lbs. Since being upgraded, the maximum take off distance is approximately 3,580 ft while it’s maximum landing distance is approximately 2,480 ft.
This aircraft comes with a stand-up cabin that measures approximately 6 ft in height, 6 ft 5″ in width and 21 ft 9″ in length. The baggage compartment can hold up to approximately 127 cubic ft, and can store approx. 1,245 lbs in weight. You can also find 5 windows on both sides (10 in total) to help fill the interior with natural and abundant light.
Another interesting thing to note, is that the Latitude is considered one of the first Citation aircraft to incorporate a cabin HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter). A HEPA filter essentially helps remove impurities from the air, so they are no longer present in circulation (3).
When it comes to avionics, this aircraft is equipped with the Garmin G5000 Integrated Flight Deck. It comes with 4 full color touch screen LCD displays, along with Primary Flight Displays (PFD) that use the Garmin Synthetic Vision System Technology (SVT). This aircraft also includes a real-time diagnostic system called LinxUs, which in general helps to monitor the overall aircraft performance.
