The Bombardier Challenger 350 was introduced at the 2013 EBACE in Geneva, with deliveries beginning in late June 2014. It is an upgrade to the Challenger 300 and features improvements to the cabin, engines, wing design, in-flight entertainment and more.
In 2018, Bombardier delivered a total of 60 Challenger 350 jets, and is said to have captured 58% of the super mid-size market for that year. Also, in 2019 it was recognized by the Robb Report Magazine as the best super mid-size aircraft for the second consecutive year. (1)
Powered by two Honeywell HTF7350 turbo fans with 7,323 lbs force of thrust. The Challenger 350 can reach a maximum range of 3,200 nautical miles, with 8 passengers and 2 crew, at Mach 0.80. While being able to seat up to 10 passengers in a standard configuration. The 350 can also reach a maximum operating altitude of 45,000 ft. In terms of maximum cruise speed, this aircraft can reach approximately Mach 0.83.
When having a look at the maximum takeoff weight (MTOW), the Challenger 350 can handle approximately 40,600 lbs. As for maximum landing weight (MLW), this aircraft can carry approximately 34,150 lbs. (2)
The maximum take off distance available is approximately 4,835 ft, and it’s maximum landing distance is approximately 2,364 ft. This allows the aircraft to take advantage of its short field performance capabilities and operate out of challenging airports such as; London City, Santa Monica etc.
With one of the widest in its class, the Challenger 350 has a cabin that measures 6 ft in height, 7 ft 2″ in width and 25 ft 2″ in length. It has a flat cabin floor design and allows for enough room to move freely. The baggage compartment is approximately 106 cubic ft and is accessible at all times in-flight.
You can also find Bombardier’s Cabin Management System (CMS) which allows passengers control over their entertainment, wifi, environment and other aspects of the cabin interior. It is also recognized as one of the quietest cabin’s in its class as well.
The avionics found on this aircraft is the Rockwell Collins Aerospace Pro Line 21. It’s an advanced avionics flight deck that includes 4 large LCD displays. It also includes a Head-Up Display (HUD), the Enhanced Vision System (EVS) and more. (3)
