You have different projects and spaces in your life that you need to keep separate. Nimbus Note is built around workspaces to help organize your life or work categories, such as personal, hobbies, and work. Each workspace is independent, having its own notes, folders, reminders, and members. Now, it’s possible to create multiple workspaces: One for travel plans, another for work-related notes, and a third for that novel you’ve been writing!
In addition, you can share any workspace with others. And, you can share different workspaces with different groups of people. Are you planning a party with your friends? It’s easy to drop the party notes, calendar, and to-do lists into a new workspace. Then, take a few moments to invite your friends to collaborate. Developing a new application? Create a new workspace, add your team members, and voilà! You have a shared notebook for the project.
To organize well, you need a good filing system. In addition to searchable tags, Nimbus Note allows you to organize your notes into folders and subfolders. Indulge your inner organizer and add as many subfolder levels as you need.
With Nimbus Note, you can also color-code any of your notes and folders. In addition to text searches, use a label color in your search. For example, filter search results further to show only notes having a green label. This feature is handy when you can’t remember the exact name of a folder, but you know its label was orange.
Here’s what the color-coded folders and subfolders look like in Nimbus Note:
This security feature enables you to safely store information in the cloud, from the moment you create a note until you delete it. It’s the same system that’s used to protect sensitive customer information in financial and healthcare systems.
Keep all your information secure with encryption. Encryption scrambles any information that you want to hide, and can only be seen by someone who has the encryption key. With a single click, encrypt the contents of any note along with any of its attachments. For extra security, create as many encryption keys as you want.
Encrypting your data in Nimbus Note is simple. Open the Note menu, select Encrypt this note, and choose a key. Easy! The entire contents of the note is encrypted, including all attachments. Keep in mind that Nimbus doesn’t have any backdoors or save passwords for encrypted notes. You’re the only one that can access or share them.
Nimbus Note doesn’t use a simple HTML editor that limits functionality. Our editor was built from the ground up to support objects and attachments, so you can include whatever you want in the note. Write and format text, capture and insert screenshots, or take photos with the camera. Record audio while you’re taking lecture notes. Also, it’s easy to add objects such as calendars, spreadsheets, maps, Kanban boards, videos, and more.
Below are some examples. You can do a lot more than this, too—we just didn’t want to overwhelm you.
Nimbus Note for both iPhone and Android has a built-in map on which you can create notes that you link to a specific location. For example, if you’re a contractor working with clients all over the city, you could link records for each client to their location on the map. Later, when you need to find a client file, it’s easy to search for notes that correspond to that location on the map.
Also, you can use the mapping feature to link a reminder to a location. The next that you’re at the grocery store, Nimbus Note will notice your location and present your shopping list note to remind of some items that you put there days ago.
Nimbus Note isn’t merely a convenient place to store your information and ideas. It also helps you quickly find what you need. Search for notes using any attribute—keyword, date, size, tag, color, location, and more.
For example, let’s say your dishwasher breaks. Uh-oh! Because you have Nimbus Note, you previously took a picture of the warranty and saved it to your Warranties workspace. A simple search for the dishwasher brand is all you need to find the image of the warranty with that brand name. You’ll have an empty sink again in no time.
Or maybe you forgot the details of that product feature your team was brainstorming, but you know you talked about it at last month’s meeting. Filter your search results by date to find the right note quickly.
With the Nimbus Clipper browser extension, you can capture anything you see online and save it directly into Nimbus Note. Save entire web pages and PDFs, or create notes from portions on a web pages. Nimbus Clipper is currently available for Chrome, Firefox, and Android.
Nimbus Capture is a powerful screen capture tool. Capture full or partial screenshots, record video screencasts, and create video notes with your camera. Grab portions of the screen, or all of it. Annotate your screenshots with text and drawings. Record a video from your screen or camera. When you’re done, save it to a note and then share it with your friends or teammates. Nimbus Capture includes image-to-text recognition, so all text in any screenshot is searchable with the OCR engine. Nimbus Capture is available on Chrome, Firefox, Windows desktop, and Mac desktop.
