FuseBase Updates (Feb–Mar 2024): Granular Permissions & More
- 5 Min read
These days, smartphone cameras could easily replace the standard snapshot cameras. Pictures taken with cellphones, especially with proper lighting, are pretty good in quality. So, it comes as no surprise that smartphone cameras can be effectively used for purposes beyond taking regular snapshots. For instance, you could scan some document or bill. This is what a new Nimbus Clipper mode called “Document scanner” is for.

The way it works is quite simple:
Press on “Take a photo”;
Select Document mode (set by default);
Take a photo of your document;
See if the app correctly detected the document’s borders and if not, set them yourself. You can also rotate the photo. On the page with filters you can make the photo black and white (ideal for documents) or intensify colors (for example, when scanning magazine articles).
You can then annotate the phone in the Nimbus Clipper editor or save it to Nimbus note straightaway.
“What’s the point of scanning if there is no OCR or searching for text in pictures?” you may wonder. Just to unveil this little secret for you – we are working on it and will soon make you very happy with another update :).
