Challenge

I am currently using Nimbus Note as my brain's personal D: drive- notes, financial receipts and statements, reference material for hobbies, user manuals, and my job search, and articles of note in case they disappear from the internet in the future. Previously having these documents saved has been valuable for quick reference, but Evernote was frequently slow in searching or retrieving a note, often freezing up for a minute or two (on both internet browser and Windows desktop app). I'm very pleased with the speed and functionality that Nimbus Note offers.

Solution

It would not have been possible for me to use Evernote for what I've built in Nimbus Note: a homework tracker for my daughter. In this, her first year of middle school, her schoolwork is spread out between several school portals, and she's fallen behind while learning to keep up with her assignments. To help her view a quick list of her progress, I created a single task list of all her homework assignments, added subtext with due date and name of the portal where the assignment is located, then color-shaded some assignments for certain criteria. When she completes an item, she checks the taskbox on the Nimbus app on a tablet, and the item almost immediately shows as complete on my laptop browser. Not only can we quickly view how much homework she has left to do, we can also see how much she's completed and can demonstrate progress. In addition, I'm using Nimbus Notes as my job search filing cabinet, stowing away reference materials, job descriptions, print screens from job sites, etc. Also, I'm considering starting a voiceover side hustle and I'll definitely be thinking of ways I can use Nimbus Note to create scripts, invoice templates, CRM, and more.

Results

Being between jobs, I haven't used Nimbus Notes on the job yet, but during my job search and homework tracking, I can definitely tell a difference in faster workflow. Nimbus Note is noticeably faster than Evernote in searching, creating, and editing notes and documents.
